A place for all kinds of food, crafts and general nerdery
I decided to do another moodboard, but rather than it being 1 particular theme, I thought I would mesh two together. I admit, there is a purely selfish motive to this one, as this is kinda my ideal wedding really 🙂 so it’s indulgent and you guys are just sort of along for the ride haha 🙂 I’m pretty lucky the man-one already knows all this and he is aware I have had this moodboard going on pinterest for a while haha 🙂 Bless that man, he puts up with a lot from me lol! If it’s not cakes and craft mags, it’s wedding mags all over the place.
Hopefully you guys will like it anyway 🙂
I love the simplicity of the dress. I would team it with a red petticoat like below to add volume and colour. Similarly with a red belt and even a red light shrug. (You may have guessed that red is my favourite colour lol!)
I am a gal who LOVES my heels, but after a morning in them, standing around taking photos etc, I, personally, would rather be able to dance the night away in comfort. So whilst I’ve picked red court shoes, I have also added red converse for the evening. It would have the added bonus of adding a touch of The Doctor to the day as well lol!
Rather than a very traditional veil, and in keeping with the 50s look, a birdcage veil would work perfectly.
Although to up the “geek” element, adding a cartoon style fascinator to the top would tie in the whole look.
I love the rockabilly make up look for this outfit and feel it would tie in nicely with both elements.
This beige and white casual outfit is gorgeous and teamed with a red tie and the cufflinks below. Perfect for any gamer and his groomsmen 🙂
For the bridemaids, a royal blue would work perfectly. Matches the groomsmen but still keeps in with both the 50s feel, and the bright primary colours of the comics….yes, it’s also kinda TARDIS blue. Funny, I hadn’t spotted that ;p
For the bouquets and boutonnieres, what else but comic books? 🙂
Although, if it’s possible to get away with it, throwing a sonic screwdriver in the mix wouldn’t go a-miss 🙂
For decorations, Comic Book heart garlands would easily work.
Teamed with 50s LP bowl centre pieces.
Comic cookies for favours.
Am not one for long winded ceremonies so this “order” speaks to me 🙂
Am not one for speeches or much in the way of tradition either 🙂 so once again, this invite has my name written all over it.
Fun photo props for guests to have a laugh with, rather than a huge amount of “formal” photographs.
Crafts always go down well with me, a DIY hulahoop chandelier for the reception afterwards 🙂
And just because you can never have enough Doctor Who 😉
As I said above, this is a purely indulgent board and I know it doesn’t subscribe completely to the 50s style. I will do a more vintage 50s feel wedding in the next week, just as it’s such a pretty look anyway 🙂
Hope you liked it all the same,
Cheers for now
