A place for all kinds of food, crafts and general nerdery
Sorry about being all quiet on the Western Front recently. Major changes taking place in life at the moment and I’ve not had a minute to myself in all of it. I will, of course, go into this all later one once everything has calmed down a tad. In the meantime, I thought I would share a fairly recent geeky order of cupcakes. A nice simple design but oh so effective and geeky at the same time 🙂
A long-standing friend of mine asked me to make some cupcakes for her little boy’s birthday. He was having a Scraggy Pokémon cake made for his main cake and his mum wanted some cuppies as a little extra. The most logical choice for cupcakes to go with the Pokémon theme is of course Pokéballs 🙂 So I made 12 chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and Pokéball toppers.
It’s a very simple technique.
Cut out 6 red large circles and 6 white large circles. Cut the circles in half and using a bit of water as glue, carefully stick 1 half of red to 1 half of white to recreate a full circle.
Then 12 black circles and 12 white slightly smaller circles are cut out and the white is stuck on top of the black. Cut 12 black strips and stick across the join of the bases. Stick the black & white dots on top of the strips and bingo. You have Pokéballs 🙂
I will be hopefully posting regularly again soon but until then, I hope you guys are ok and staying safe 🙂
Cheers for now
